Scorpius
The shape: a long, curved tail with red Antares.
Scorpius is the creature that stung the hunter Orion. Antares means “rival of Mars” because it glows as red as the planet. Seen from Switzerland, Scorpius stands only low in the south in summer; its sting usually stays hidden behind the mountains.
The stars of the figure
From bright to faint. Brightness is given in magnitudes (mag): the smaller the number, the brighter the star.
